What are the different classes of misdemeanors and felonies and what do these classes mean? 9) In the juvenile court system, what are the differences between an informal hearing and a formal hearing? 10) Explain in a brief essay (200-250 words) why we have laws. 11) What does it mean for an intake officer to establish probable cause? 12) In a brief essay (150-200 words) tell why drugs are illegal. 13) Define and explain due process, then write a brief essay (50-100 words) about how it has worked for you. 14) What is secure detention? 15) What are the differences between a parole officer and a probation officer? 16) What is the role of the judge in the juvenile courtroom? 17) What are the differences in how a juvenile is tried as oppose to an adult? 18) Is Virginia a capital punishment state? If so how are executions performed? 19) List and explain all the steps in the juvenile trial process.
